SUMMER U is the best event that summer has to offer! Embodying positive Jewish identities, celebrating diversity at all time: during the workshops, the panels, the legendary parties, while networking, by the pool or during sporting. Come to laugh, meet, learn, sweat, sing, dance, run and let loose together with old and new friends from across the globe. Summer U is bringing together young Jewish students and professionals (18–30 years old) from all over Europe and beyond since 1983 – which means this year is the 40th year of Summer U’s. Join us to celebrate the milestones of EUJS’ Summer U in sunny Málaga, Spain between August 14–21, 2023! Grab your friends, engage with other participants, meet inspiring speakers or run a session! Whatever you do, pack your swimwear and get ready for some intense sun!
We bring you an AFFORDABLE summer program: the price of Summer U includes transportation between the airport and the venue, accommodation (in shared rooms), meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee breaks twice/day) and programme – so in addition you will only have to cover the travel expenses. On Summer U you create your own experience. Join a various number of sessions on topics that are relevant to today’s young Jews: Political advocacy, Leadership, Jewish Learning & Diversity, and many more. In addition, discover the local culture & history on one of the day trips! Play sports, hang out by our private outdoor pool, learn new dances and songs, and party with new friends! On Summer U, every day becomes a life-long memory.
PROGRAM
Every year, Summer U hosts a wide range of activities. Together with our Jewish educator we are working on bringing meaningful Jewish content for the diverse crowd coming to the event. This year all our energy has been focused on making this event a place of celebration of positive European Jewish identities. The program has been tailored day by day to find the right balance between content and holiday feeling. All the sessions run during the program will be held in informal and non-formal settings with the common theme of Inclusivity. You decide what’s important for you! As a vital part of the young European Jewish community, you’ll get the knowledge, tools, and support to build our Jewish future on the continent with a whole network of new amazing friends.

Get yourself moving with Yoga, Makkabiah games and many more options. Express yourself through song, dance, arts and crafts!! Charge your camera and have it ready for an extraordinary day trip! Celebrate 40 years of Summer U elegantly in the EUJS Gala and spend a beautiful Shabbat together with over 250 fellow Pan-European Jews!

This year at Summer U, our member unions will elect a new Board and a President for EUJS and discuss and adopt new policies. Whether as a union delegate or an interested participant, you’ll get to be part of EUJS’ democratic processes and be part of shaping the direction of the organisation!

Safety and wellbeing is our Priority. We will continuously update our protocols regarding COVID-19 based on the recommended guidelines issued by the EUJS Medical Advisory Committee, as well as European and local governments, with specific attention given to Spanish guidelines.
We have implemented the highest security measures in cooperation with the local authorities and the Jewish community in Spain.

The price includes:
- Accommodation during the length of the stay (maximum: August 14, 2023 – August 21, 2023) in rooms of two (2), three (3) or four (4) persons.
- Vegetarian meals 3 times per day (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Potentially, a meat option will be served on Shabbat and a fish option during the Gala. Certified Kosher food will be provided, at a minimum for everyone who requires it.
- Entertainment, lectures, and workshops.
- Basic hotel services.
- Transportation from Málaga airport to the hotel venue on the 14th of August and back from the hotel venue to Málaga airport on the 21st of August.
*We are only able to offer Bank transfers as payment method for Summer U 2023. You will receive the payment instructions in the registration confirmation email after your registration is approved. Please, do not hesitate to contact us at summer-u@eujs.org, if this causes you problems – together we will find a solution.
HOW DOES IT WORK?

- Usually within 1–3 days you then receive an approval letter and payment instructions: Congratulations – you will be a part of the unforgettable Summer U 2023!
- Pay the participation fee and send a proof of payment (/receipt) within 10 days to: summer-u@eujs.org
- Book flights and start counting days
