EUJS Information on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

EUJS represents Jewish Students in 36 countries across Europe. In order to fight for the interests of young Jews, we travel a lot. Whether that means representing the views of Europe’s young Jewry in front of political bodies, international organizations and Jewish institutions, organizing seminars to empower the next generations of Europe’s Jewish leadership or, most importantly, being on the ground, taking part in the incredible events our member unions every day.

But our foremost priority is the safety of our participants, staff and especially those around us.

Because of the Covid-19 outbreak all over Europe, since March third and until further notice, we are restricting all non-essential work travel of EUJS staff and are postponing our immediately upcoming seminars, including our first of three Union Accelerators, our Summer U preparation seminar with JELP volunteers and Demonstrations in Berlin, Brussels, and London. Since today, March 12, all of our staff are working from home in order to help to flatten the curve.

At the same time, we are reimagining the ways we work in order to be able to continue to provide meaningful content to young Jews all over Europe and will be presenting some new initiatives soon. Our thoughts are with those affected by the global pandemic and we are aware of our responsibility to not just protect ourselves but also stand in solidarity with the weakest among us.

One thing is clear: even a pandemic is not going to stop us from advocating for the interests of young Jews, fighting for Human Rights, provide Jewish Education and, most importantly, continue to support our member Unions.

We are all in this together, stay healthy!
